We would like to showcase the good work being done by other partners across Idaho to ensure that adult consumers have access to a variety of support and resources in their community. On this page, we list support groups, educational opportunities, and occasionally, other events that our partners are hosting. These events are not necessarily associated with Empower Idaho, but we recognize them as promoting content that aligns with our mission and vision. Please let us know if you have information regarding something that might be appropriate for this page and we can discuss how we can support one another.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training(ASIST)
March 15-16 & April 7-8, 2018
8:30am-4:30pm Mountain Time
The Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline is hosting a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. ASIST(Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) teaches participants to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone. The cost is $60 for nonprofit and community partners (for materials) and $295 for private individuals. For more information contact Sharon Lighting at 208-813-3070 or at email@example.com
