Join Empower Idaho for this free webinar where we will explore aging and behavioral health. Social isolation and loneliness in older people poses multiple health risks, both physical and mental. How are we in Idaho working towards a goal of overall wellness for seniors, specifically their behavioral health? We will overview the work of the Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging in combating senior isolation and loneliness, focusing on how this work can be replicated throughout all of Idaho.
Natalie Nathan has spent the past five years serving seniors in Southwest Idaho. She is currently the Special Projects Manager at the Area 3 Senior Services Agency. Prior to the switch to the “Living Well” programs, Natalie worked as a long-term care ombudsman, advocating for residents’ rights and finding new ways to improve the lives of the residents in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities. Natalie graduated in December of 2013 with a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Programming with an emphasis in gerontology, and has a passion for educating seniors on ways to live well, so that they can have a long term quality of life. In her spare time, you can find her out on the water, up in the hills, whipping up something tasty in the kitchen or behind a microphone, singing her heart out.
