Community Event: Mental Health First Aid: A Primer for Public Health Professionals and Communities

October 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Brought to you by: The National Council for Behavioral Health

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues. More importantly, it’s a tool that public health leaders across the United States have begun to employ to engage in early detection and intervention around the signs and symptoms of specific illnesses. The primer provides concrete tools and engagement with local mental health resources, national organizations, support groups and online tools for mental health and addiction treatment and support

In this interactive and engaging session, you’ll hear from Tramaine EL-Amin, assistant vice president of strategic partnerships for Mental Health First Aid, and Elizabeth Guroff, MA, LCMFT, director of trauma-informed services for National Council.
