A free webinar partnership with a fellow program of Jannus, Economic Opportunity!
Description: Debt, depression, shame, anxiety, money: Almost two-thirds of our country’s adult population experience financial stress and a co-occurring mental health condition. In this session we will begin to pull back the rug to expose how common financial stress is in our society, and in doing so we will also explore ways we can empower each other, and ourselves, to take control and shed the shame.
About the presenter: As the Director of Economic Opportunity (EO) at Jannus in Boise, Idaho, Kate stands at the forefront of EO’s growing Mission: to create mobility from poverty by removing barriers so that individuals, families and communities can thrive. A passionate leader, she is responsible for EO’s vision, strategy, program development, fundraising efforts and operations. Kate functions under the guiding principle so well-articulated by Grace Lee Boggs, “We never know how our small activities will affect others through the invisible fabric of our connectedness. In this exquisitely connected world, it’s never a question of ‘critical mass.’ It’s always about critical connections.” Kate received her master’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from the University of Idaho. When not working, Kate enjoys the peace and beauty of the outdoors and dance parties with her son, husband and dog, Lucy.
