Community Event: Assessment Center 101 Training
Brought to you by: Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections and the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission
Assessment Centers prevent and divert youth from justice and child welfare systems through a single point of contact that identifies underlying issues contributing to concerning behavior, and partners with youth and families to access individualized services and supports. The Assessment Center 101 training provides community stakeholders with foundational knowledge of the Assessment Center Framework including guiding principles, core components, best practices, and outcomes. The training will also provide examples of assessment centers, their operations, and impact around the country.
Recommended attendees include professionals from courts, schools, police, child welfare, and services providers as well as elected officials and impacted youth and families. Those interested in applying for funding for an Assessment Center in their area are strongly encouraged to attend as teams.
Two sessions will be held; both will allow for in-person attendance as well as through Zoom.
