Community Event: COVID-19 and Alcohol Use Disorder in Diverse Communities

HRSA ORO Region 10 is hosting a three-part webinar series on the impacts of COVID-19 on behavioral health that prioritize health and wellness strategies for young adults, racial/ethnic communities, essential workers, and unpaid adult caregivers. Each webinar is designed to increase awareness of HRSA, state and local resources for behavioral health.
Webinar 1, scheduled for April 6, 2021, will focus on Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) in diverse communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speakers include: · Lois Gillmore, Assistant Regional Administrator, Region 10, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration · Dr. Oladunni Oluwoye, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences, Washington State University · Tiffany Hall, Executive Director, Recover Alaska Participants should expect to engage in the following as a result of participating in the webinar: · Receive information on HRSA’s mission, programs, and resources, nationally and in Region 10 · Explore impacts of COVID-19 on AUD · Increase awareness of AUD prevention and treatment strategies and promising practices within diverse communities · Learn to address AUD within diverse communities · Share experiences and expertise regarding AUD within diverse groups through a facilitated discussion |
