Community Events: First Responder Mental Health Training For Public Health Practitioners
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Drug Overdose Prevention Program is excited to present a free, virtual public health training opportunity to gain information and insight on first responder culture to inform cross-sector collaboration. In this one-hour virtual training, Chaplain Bill Lotz from the Chaplain Services Network will provide insight on first responder culture and dynamics. This training will assist public health professionals in building and fostering relationships with first responders across the state.
As the opioid crisis in Idaho evolves, bridging the gap between public health and first responders becomes increasingly important. Partnership between public health and first responders increases opportunity for collaboration and intervention. This training will provide information on first responder priorities and culture, which may assist public health decision-making within the first responder relationship-building process. The overall goal of the training is to equip Idaho public health practitioners with the knowledge to effectively communicate and engage local first responder agencies.
