Many organizations offer Employee Assistance Programs(EAPs) at no charge to employees which provide a valuable resource for support and information during difficult times. EAP services include assessments, counseling, and referrals for additional services to employees with personal and/or work-related concerns, such as stress, financial issues, legal issues, family problems, office conflicts, and alcohol and substance use disorders. Confidentiality is maintained and no one besides the person accessing EAP knows they’ve used the services.
Contact your human resources department to find out if your company provides an EAP and, if so, what it offers. You may also find information about your EAP by looking at your employee handbook or on a message board in the break room where you work.
